High Risk Pregnancies
A "High Risk" pregnancy is one where the mother and/or fetus have special medical needs. At Center for Women's Health our Ob-Gyn physicians are committed to a team approach by coordinating the care of these health challenges with the help of appropriate subspecialties such as Perinatology, Genetics, Pediatric Cardiology and others.
Conditions that may require special care include:
- High blood pressure
- History of diabetes
- Blood clotting disorders
- History of pregnancy complications
- Family history of birth defects or other inherited disorders
- History of other medical problems
What we do: We take a careful history and perform a detailed physical examination. We arrange the needed testing and arrange consultation with subspecialists outside of our practice. Then we work with you and your other doctors in a proactive way to construct a care plan that takes into account you and your baby's special needs. |
