Center for Women’s Health has a full-time phlebotomist for our blood-drawing. Our facility has a Quest blood-draw station (http://www.questdiagnostics.com/) but also is able to send labs to Labcorp (http://www.labcorp.com/) as required by your insurance companies. We are not able to accommodate blood draws for patients outside of our practice at this time.
We also perform several in-house lab tests including hemoglobin (to detect anemia or low blood count), urinanalysis (to detect bladder infections and some kidney problems) and urine pregnancy tests. Since 2008 we have also been able to perform an on-site DNA probe test (the BD VPIII) that accurately detects and identifies the 3 most common vaginal infections in less than an hour.
Other state-of-the-art testing that we offer are the Advanced screen where blood markers are combined with fetal ultrasound to detect chromosomal problems like Down syndrome and Trisomy 13. Learn more at http://www.ntdlabs.com/.
